December Daily 2017 || Days 10-12

Hello Dearest Dreamers!

I hope this post finds you well. Happy Wednesday!

It's busy here in the Dreamer house. I've fallen behind on filming videos (so you get 2 videos today instead of just 1), trying to get some blog posts written out for the holiday, and getting my house ready for my in-laws visit on Saturday.

Onto Days 10-12!

Day 10a.jpeg

Day 10 gave me the most trouble during the process video. The plan I had in my head didn't work out, but that's alright. I adapted and overcame and created this instead. This pocket is inspired by Ali Edwards.

The chipboard 10 is from Ali Edwards (no longer available) and the chipboard is from the Circles Set (only available digitally).

The paper I used to make this is from DCWV Cranberry Christmas. I cut the 12X12 into a 6.5X8 background and the remainder of that 12X6.5 strip became the pocket. I just used some redline tape and taped off three edges to make the pocket.

DD2017 Day 10b
DD2017 Day 10c

On this day I decided to tell the story of the Dickens Holiday Festival held downtown every year by our local Arts Council. They dress up in period clothing (Charles Dickens) and set up booths to sell merchandise. It is fantastic. Once it gets dark there is a narrator (2nd photo on the left), everyone lights a candle, and then the tree gets lit before fireworks.

The "Yes" card is a digital from the Main Kit this year. I added my journaling and just printed the card out. I changed the colors of the YES to make it fit my style more, which is the beauty of hybrid scrapbooking and digital products.

The two photos attached to the Yes card were taken by my friend Matt Wonderly (he was our wedding photographer as well as a dear friend). He works for a magazine in the city and gets to go to all sorts of awesome events. The tiny word phrase stickers are from Felicity Jane Joy kit.

The first photo on the left is the Market House downtown (taken by me), the one of my husband and I was taken by Matt, and the bottom photo was a selfie taken by my my friend Sarah.

DD2017 Day 11

Day 11 was incredibly simple. I decided to write a quick letter to my winter tights (inspired by Brandi Kincaid) I used one of Ali's 6X8 templates and made some modifications. The "Stay Cozy" is a digital stamp from the December Monthly Kit as is the little "winter" above the journaling. The "for the love of" is a digital stamp from the December Story Kit. This is printed on some Epson Matte Presentation paper.

There is a pull out tab on the right that is for the story of Day 12. This side just says "I want to remember", one of the stamps on the Jasmine Jones stamp set from this year.

DD2017 Day 12

Day 12 was another simple day and only gave me some minor trouble (mostly of my own doing). You might recognize the photo from Day 3, when we did our Christmas card photos. I took another leaf out of Brandi's book and made it into a hidden journaling pocket.

The story for the day is actually a letter to my husband (hence the picture). We had a rough Monday/Tuesday and I wrote the letter to thank him for everything. I typed the journaling on a 6X4 canvas in Photoshop and added the "Bring on the Love" digital stamp from the December Story Kit. I attached a tab from Office Depot and stamped "You give me" from the November Story Kit. The wooden numbers are from my stash, as is the heart, and the chipboard phrase is from the Bond Story Kit from this year.

If you want to see the craziness that I went through, check out the process video below. There were definitely some mistakes made and some things that didn't go as I planned.

The other video is uploading as I write this. I shall have a blog post ready for it too shortly.

Until next time,
