Week In The Life 2017: Monday
Monday
This is my first time trying to document my Week In The Life here on my blog. I'm hoping that by doing this it motivates me to tell complete stories and also complete the project. I am hoping that completing the documenting here will help me when it comes time to do the physical documentation in my album.
Most of my photos were taken on my phone today. I just got my new dSLR this past Friday so I am still learning how to use it (like how to change the settings in Manual or Aperture Priority mode so I get good, clear photos).
0809 || My week day mornings all start off with the same routine.... I wake up, open the blinds in my bedroom (I have black out curtains in front of my bed), and then head to the bathroom. This morning I was proud of myself for remembering to use the timer on my phone to capture this photo of me brushing my teeth. My husband and I are adjusting to using a new bathroom in our house (that's for another post) which means that I have to adjust how I take photos.
0828 || Definitely running a little behind this morning (typical Monday for you) but I am still out the door before 0830, heading to school. Lucky for me I had the forethought last night to pack my bag for this morning and set it by the door. This way, I only had to worry about getting dressed, grabbing my breakfast, and putting my laptop in my bag (it desperately needed to charge) before heading out the door.
0829 || This is not a typical sight for a week day morning. Lee is usually gone by 0510 for work in the mornings, but today he has off thanks to the holiday yesterday. This means that he is also just now getting up for the day, heading off to go get his hair cut. It'll be great to spend time with him today in-between my classes, since he usually is really busy during the week.
0843 || As usual, I'm the first person in my classroom when it comes to Economics. This is the first class I have every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The classroom is warm and smells musty, and I dread the next hour until we're released from class. This particular teacher likes to yell and insult his students on a daily basis and it's not how I like to start my day. If I wanted to start my day with being yelled at for no reason, I would still be in the military.
1200 || Lunch time at the Hutt house. Today I opted for something very simple (and a classic) and went with PB&J with my Cherry Dr. Pepper.
1331 || After class I came home and decided to start organizing the shed out back. Yesterday, I started my little flower garden and it's prompting me to organize things and make it easier. I want to expand my little flower garden out front to include the entire bed area and then plant a little herb garden in the backyard. I hope to start that tomorrow. This also means posting some items for sale on a local yard sale FB page. This includes this giant pile of firewood. I can't wait to have a fire pit in the backyard here soon!
1545 || A perk of my husband being off for the day is that we get to spend time together. He is spending his free time playing Mass Effect while I am looking at Pinterest for gardening/landscaping ideas. This is the first photo taken with my new dSLR
1631 || We started dinner a little earlier then normal tonight since Lee is off. Monday's mean "Moe's at Home" because we love eating at Moe's Southwestern Grill. It was a tradition that was started for lunch back when I was stationed here in 2012-2013 with my coworkers. My old roommate and I adapted this tradition for dinner on Monday nights and Lee and I have kept it.
1641 || I like to emulate the Earmuff Chicken Bowl for my dinner while Lee went with a burrito. My dinner just includes white rice, baked chicken (tonight it has taco seasoning), shredded cheese, black beans, and diced cucumbers and tomatoes. We prefer doing this at home because we can insure that the food is a little healthier and I change the seasoning on the chicken every week to something different.
1745 || Lee usually isn't even getting home until now, but tonight, we're finished with dinner and just hanging out. We're waiting on people to come pick up the items that they purchased from us (on that FB yard sale group) and we're pretty excited about it. It didn't take long for our grill, lawn mower, and vacuum to be claimed. Lee wants to get a charcoal grill and the one we had was propane. We pay someone to come mow our lawn twice a month so it was a little pointless for us to have a mower (the guy does a fantastic job when he is here). My roommate left us the vacuum and we want a new one, instead of throwing it out, we figured that we would try to sell it.
I spent the evening working on an article for the online music magazine that I write for. I get to write an album review for a band that I am friends with and I am pretty excited! Lee finished Mass Effect earlier this afternoon and we went to GameStop so he could purchase a new game to play. He choose to play The Witcher (again) and I am okay with that. I like the storyline of the game and he likes that I ask questions.
2241 || While I was busy looking at Pinterest on our iPad, Lee decided to watch Law and Order: SVU on Netflix (it's a go-to show in this house). It was a nice way to wind down the evening
That is it for day one in photos and journaling (at least what I can think of here). I didn't take many more photos than this today (which kind of bums me out really). I forgot to take some photos while we were at Lowes and when Lee sold his Xbox at GameStop. I decided to skip my second class for the day (University Studies) and spend the afternoon with Lee and for a while he went out with some band mates to look at purchasing an enclosed trailer. These still make good stories for the album!
