Grateful for You | Box of Sunshine

Hello Dearest Dreamers!

If you don’t know, I participate in a lot of vendor and craft fairs starting in the middle of summer. This year has been especially busy and I am loving it! I try to make products that coordinate with the seasons, and Fall is a big one for me. Today I want to share with you a box of sunshine that I made. A box of sunshine is one of my favorite things to make!

This box was spawned in the wake of the pandemic last year when we weren’t spending as much time with the people that mean the most of these. I think it was July' 2020’s Paper Pumpkin, which was themed as a Box of Sunshine and I couldn’t help but wanting to expand on this idea for my business. Thus, my version of a box of sunshine was born. Let me just say that these things are my most popular items that I sell.

I use a Mini Paper Pumpkin box and decorate the top (and sometimes the sides). This one was decorated with a piece of Early Espresso measuring 3.5” X 5” layered under a piece of retired DSP (craft fairs are my favorite ways to use up that paper after it retires). I cut a banner in Bumblebee to put behind the sentiment panel. I cut the early espresso and crumb cake panels using the Stitched So Sweetly dies. The sentiment is also from a retired fall themed set, but you can use any sentiment you want.

I try not to share a bunch of projects using retired products, but I wanted to share with you how I use that stuff even after it retires. I don’t just throw any of it away. This box can be recreated with any number of products and you can see different ways I decorate this box over in my shop.

Until next time!
