Timeless Tropical

Hello Dearest Dreamers!

I hope this post finds you well. I think I start every post the same way. Welcome to April! We’re in another month and today officially starts the stay-at-home order for my state. It’s supposed to go until the end of April, but we’ll see what happens. It just means that I have more time for crafting!

Today I wanted to share a set of cards with you that I fell in LOVE with. It really reminds me of Florida, which is where I grew up. It’s mostly the flowers and the palm trees! That beach vibe!

Timeless Tropical card set

These cards are all super easy and made mostly using the Tropical Oasis DSP. I actually have to order more so I can make some more card sets from these! The other common item throughout these three cards are the Timeless Tropical Bundle.

This first card is definitely one of my favorites that I have made from the Spring Mini Catalog.

The card base is A2 side-folding and made from Crumb Cake. I know that Soft Suede is one of the colors in the DSP, but I really love using Crumb Cake and will use it whenever I can. I cut a piece of the DSP to measure 1 1/8X 5.5” and adhered it to the side of the card.

I stamped the palm tree image using Soft Suede ink on a 2” Whisper White square. I backed that on some Soft Suede cardstock cut to 2.25” square. I then stamped the friendship sentiment in Soft Suede and this card is done!

Timeless Tropical red

One thing that I really like about the 2020 Spring Mini Catalog is that it not only lists each color that can be found in the DSP of each suite, but it looks like they are brushed on by paint. It makes it super easy to identify the colors in the paper and what coordinates together for a project.

This A2 side folding card base is made from Real Red. I backed a 2.5X5.5” piece of DSP with a piece of 2.75X5.5” Pear Pizzazz. I tried to center the DSP on the Pear Pizzazz, but we can see that it didn’t work like I wanted it too. The sentiment panels were cut with the Nested Stitched Label dies (can you tell that I REALLY like these dies?!?!?) in both Whisper White and Pear Pizzazz. The sentiment was stamped in Real Red.

Timeless Tropical blue

This is the last of the three cards, also super easy to make. I cut a piece of Pretty Peacock to make a side-folding A2 sized card. I layer a piece of DSP on the front, sized to 4X5.25”. I used a scrap of brown DSP (the back of some other DSP I’ve previously cut down) to make a kind of belt thingy to back the other panel. I stamped the sentiment using Soft Suede ink and Pear Pizzazz (i used the stamp spots for better control on the two different colors on one image if that makes sense). Once it was stamped, I cut the paper to kind of fit what I wanted. It measures 3X3.5” and is backed by Soft Suede which was cut to 3.25X3.75” (approximately). The sentiment was stamped in Soft Suede onto a piece of Pool Party and cut with a Stitched Rectangle Framelit. I added some Clear Rhinestones colored with a Dark Pretty Peacock Blend.

Make sure you check out the Retiring List and get what you want before it’s gone. Things are going super fast and you don’t want to miss anything that is a must have!
