Pride Month

Hello Dearest Dreamers!

Happy Tuesday! I hope this post finds you well. Some people might not like today’s post, but it’s near and dear to my heart. I have multiple family/ friends that are within the LGBTQIA+ community and I wanted to make sure I honored them this month during Pride Month!

So I made some Pride cards to share and sell! I really enjoyed making these cards and I want people to know that they are represented and they are loved within my little world. I had some cards on display last week at the Farmer’s Market and there were so many people who were thrilled by the Pride cards that they saw. Told me it meant a lot to see themselves represented and it made me happy.

This first card is one of my favorites! I used a Basic Black standard sized A2 card base. I added a piece of striped DSP from the Love You Always DSP and colored the bigger white stripes using Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody, Shaded Spruce, Balmy Blue, and Highland Heather blends (i used the dark blends of each color). I then used the happy sentiment from the Biggest Wish stamp set and a stitched rectangle die for the top panel. I used the Playful Alphabet dies to cut out the word Pride in the coordinating cardstocks before adhering them to a panel of Basic Black, also cut out using a rectangle from the Stitched Rectangles Dies. This card was a huge hit and I need to make more!

This next card was inspired by something I saw on Pinterest. I started with another standard sized A2 Basic Black card base and cut a Whisper White panel that was 1/4” smaller to give a black border. I took that panel of Whisper White and cut a sideways window out using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies before backing that was 3/4” strips of cardstock (Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, BumbleBee, Shaded Spruce, Pacific Point, and Highland Heather). I stamped, die cut, and colored a snail from the Snailed It! bundle (colored using Crumb Cake and Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends) and three coordinating hearts (colored in Magenta Madness, Highland Heather, and Just Jade). I took another sentiment panel die cut using the Stitched Rectangles, stamped Friend in Just Jade, and topped it with the hello in Momento Tuxedo Black ink before adhering the panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

This card was the second most popular card that I had at the vendor fair for Pride month, and it was incredibly simple to make. I started with a standard sized A2 card base in Whisper White, adding a panel of Basic Black (measuring 4” x 5.25”), and topping it with the panel of Whisper White (3.75” x 5”). I stamped the feather from Tasteful Touches using the same rainbow colors as the last card (Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, BumbleBee, Shaded Spruce, Pacific Point, and Highland Heather) side by side. I die cut a sentiment panel in Gray Granite using a die from the Tasteful Labels dies and stamped the sentiment using Tuxedo Black ink, before adhering it using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The last card I made was inspired by a card I made last year when the In-Colors came out. This one has the same Whisper White base, Basic Black panel, followed by a panel of Whisper White. I stamped the sentiment from the XX stamp set using Tuxedo Black ink. The hearts took a little more configuring simply because I couldn’t decide how big to make the strips. I eventually adhered the rainbow of strips to a scrap of Whisper White before cutting them out using the regular heart punch found in the catalog. I adhered that to a Highland Heather heart that was made with the scalloped heart punch, adhering the bottom one using Stampin’ Snail+ and the top one over that using Stampin’ Dimensionals. This was a super easy card to make and probably took the least amount of time, despite having to measure and remeasure the strips of paper to make the rainbow hearts.

Until next week,
