NC Demos Blog Hop May 2020 | Retiring Product
Happy Sunday Dreamers!
Welcome to the May 2020 NC Demos Blog hop! As you’ve probably seen, if you’re hoping along, but this month’s theme was retiring products. We’re getting close to the end of the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog and the 2020 January-June Mini Catalog, so we wanted to highlight some of our favorite products before they’re gone!
Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you enjoy my projects. I decided to play with a gem that is hidden in the back of the 2020 Spring Mini Catalog. The Botanical Prints Medley! I was hesitant at first, mostly because it’s $70, but I bought it on a whim while at a weekend crop and I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT! It was well worth the money because you get tons of products that all coordinate. You may remember seeing me use the products in this post.
I’ve had so much fun creating projects using this medley and I’m sad to see it go. I actually made two projects for this blog hop. One is super simple and the other was a little more complex, but were fun none-the-less!
When you buy a product medley, you get quite a bit of stuff. Included in this one was:
* Botanical Prints Cling Stamp
* 7-piece Botanical Prints Dies
* 48 sheets of 6X6 DSP: 8 each of 6 double-sided designs
* 4 sheets of die-cut accents
* 4 sheets of laser cut overlays
* Old olive 1/4” twill ribbon, 10 yards
* 12 copper-covered metal bee embellishments
That’s a lot for your money, and right now IT’S ON SALE!
This card was the simpler of the two to make.
I used a side-folding A2 Whisper White card base. I layered on a piece of Basic Black at 4X5.25” and a piece of the DSP that I chose from the pack.
I then used the ‘Thanks’ stamp from Seriously the Best and some Momento Black ink to stamp the sentiment. I cut it out using two frames from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and layered them on using some dimensionals. This card was incredibly quick and easy to replicate if I should choose to do so.
This was the more complicated, and it gave me a run for my money there for a moment. I had this idea in my head of how it was going to look, but it definitely didn’t turn out that way. Got to overcome and adapt!
This is another side-folding A2 sized card made using a Whisper White Base. The Basic Black layer was cut at 4X5.25”, just like before. I then used a piece of Pretty Peacock at 3.75X5” and ran it through with the Tufted Embossing Folder to give it some texture. I layered a piece of striped DSP on top of that before adding a stamped image using coordinating ink. I stamped the ‘thank you kindly’ sentiment from the Botanical Prints stamp set in Pretty Peacock, and die cut it and the Basic Black layer using two more of the Stitched So Sweetly dies.
If you haven’t already done so, make sure you check out what Laure Meier has created this month!
